West Ham United news: David Sullivan wants David Moyes in charge for ‘many years’

West Ham co-Chairman David Sullivan revealed his desire to see David Moyes remain in charge at the London Stadium for ‘many years’.

On Monday, it was reported in The Telegraph Moyes was expected to leave the club in the summer - despite only replacing Slaven Bilic in November.

Although the club publically refuted those claims, speculation about the Scot’s future has remained.

The Scot signed on a six-month contract and has led the Hammers out of the bottom three so Sullivan is understandably loath to let the former Manchester United boss leave.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Sullivan said: “He’s very hard working, I have seen him at ground watching players when he was at Everton, he puts a long shift in at the training ground.

“I think in life generally if you work harder, you get the results.

“He is a good manager, he will prove it and I hope he stays with us for many years and we win thing and achieve things.”

The co-Chairman was addressing the West Ham faithful in a video to reassure supporters more was being done to deliver success.

The Hammers fans have vented their frustration at Sullivan, fellow Chairman David Gold and Vice-chairman Karren Brady in recent weeks, with a march planned before the home game against Burnley in March.

However, Sullivan has once again pleaded for unity.

“I want to speak directly to the supporters and say how important it is that we all pull together during these times,” he said.

“I'm hurt, I know David is hurt and I know the fans are unhappy and that makes me unhappy.

“We want more ups than downs, the supporters want more ups than downs and we have had a few too many downs and and not enough ups and we know we need to do better.

“I want to set something in, a procedure, a set up that will long term deliver better.”
