England’s Gareth Southgate and Scotland’s Alex McLeish in tussle over Manchester United’s Scott McTominay

England boss Gareth Southgate is expected to hold talks with Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay today to tie him down to England rather than Scotland.
In a similar move, Scotland boss Alex McLeish met the youngster at the Red Devils’ Carrington training ground on Thursday to try and secure the player’s allegiance.
Both managers are desperate for McTominay to play for their international outfits and Southgate will pitch his case for the Three Lions today,
The 21-year-old starlet recently broke into Jose Mourinho’s starting eleven with a run of impressive performances.
It is understood McTominay is torn between England, the country of his birth, and Scotland, where his father is from.
Should the United man choose the Three Lions, Under 21s manager Aidy Boothroyd is expected to name him in his squad for upcoming games against Romania and Ukraine.
Whereas, if he opted for Scotland, McLeish reportedly believes he is ready to be fast-tracked straight into the first-team for friendlies with Costa Rica and Hungary later this month.
McTominay is yet to represent either country at any level.
