‘I’d be amazed if Arsenal sold Hector Bellerin’, Invincibles star Ray Parlour tells talkSPORT

Ray Parlour has told talkSPORT he would be ‘amazed’ if Arsenal sold Hector Bellerin this summer, and says he would not sell the defender even for £50million.

Bellerin has been linked with a surprise move away from the Emirates Stadium amid reported interest from Italian giants Juventus.

Recent reports from Italy have suggested the Serie A champions are ‘confident’ of signing the 22-year-old right-back when the transfer window opens.

And it has now been claimed the Gunners have put a £50million price tag on the Spain international and would be open to selling him to fund a summer squad makeover.

Bellerin is one of Arsenal’s key first-team players but he has struggled for form this season, which has led to the reports he could be on his way out.

But Parlour has urged his former club not to sell the Spaniard.

Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, the ex-Gunners midfielder said: “I’d be amazed if Arsenal sold Bellerin.

“He’s still a young player, he’s still learning and he wants to learn.

“I still think defensively he has to get better, but he can get better.

“He’s not had the greatest of seasons and I think he’d be the first to admit that, but I do rate him a lot.

“I wouldn’t take £50million for him, because you’ve still got to replace him in the team.

“Full-backs these days are so hard to find, because they’ve got to be able to play like wingers. You’ve got to be able to get up the pitch and produce good quality. He’s got great pace, so I wouldn’t be selling him, no.”
