Bob Bradley opens up to talkSPORT over Swansea City spell and admits: ‘I wish they never called’

Bob Bradley has opened up to talkSPORT over his disastrous spell as Swansea City boss.

The American was axed by the Premier League club in December 2016, just 85 days into the job, having lost seven of his 11 games in charge. 

Bradley, who is now manager of MLS side Los Angeles FC, spoke exclusively to Jim White about what went wrong.

"If they didn't all believe I was the right guy and if they didn't believe in the project and the time, then I wish they hadn't called," he admitted.

"Once they did call, I was all in and I probably would do it again.

"I still have confidence in my way of working with the team.

"I really wanted to get the football right there. Maybe in that respect, early on some decisions just in terms of points [I got wrong]. 

"Even inside the club I was questioned and criticised when we played Tottenham. We were down two zero at half-time and I took iniatitive with the players at half-time to try to get back in the game and we ended up losing five zero. Last year Tottenham beat a lot of teams by big scores at home and my feeling was if we are ever going to be a good team, down two goals we have got to try to get back into it.

"I wasn't thinking about damage control. I did that because I thought it was the only chance we have to become good.

"I gave it my best. I have some very good friends at Swansea. I know a lot are still critical but not all the Swansea Jacks are against me. I think a few saw what I was trying to do.

"From the day I left, I still support the club. It is not like I started rooting against them. 

"All the best to the people in Swansea. I still only have only good feelings about living in Swansea and trying to get it right."
