Sunderland transfer report: Marseille make shock loan move for Steven Fletcher

Marseille are preparing a shock move for Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher.

The 28-year-old has already been linked with West Ham during the current transfer window.

The Scotland international has just six months remaining on his current contract and is yet to be offered a new deal.

Marseille, according to L'Equipe, are now ready to take Fletcher on loan until the end of the season.

The Ligue 1 club are in need of a striker and believe the former Wolves man fits the bill.

Should a move for Fletcher fail, Marseille are also keeping tabs on Stoke City striker Peter Odemwingie.
