'We did not fear Manchester United', Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson tells talkSPORT

Injured Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson admits the Cherries did not fear Manchester United as much as they would have previous Red Devils sides after their 2-1 win on Saturday.

United were particularly poor during the game at Dean Court as goals from Junior Stanislas and Josh King sealed a memorable victory.

Wilson, who is hoping to start running in the coming weeks after tearing the ligaments in his knee, said the fact that it followed victory over champions Chelsea, made the win all the sweeter.

“It was a great result, especially on the back of beating Chelsea,” said the 23-year-old.

“You think ‘can we do it again?’ but we’ve proved to a lot of people that we can compete at this level.

“Hopefully people start taking us a bit more seriously now.

“Any win at this level is massive and to get them back-to-back, with good performances as well, makes it a bit sweeter.

“Over the years, United have had fantastic players come through their team. On Saturday it was one of their weaker sides that you don’t really fear as much.”
