Guus Hiddink has confirmed he is holding talks with Chelsea over a return to Stamford Bridge.

The Dutchman is being lined up for a second spell as interim manager in west London following the sacking of Jose Mourinho on Thursday.

The 69-year-old arrived in London on Friday to meet with Chelsea chiefs over a short-term role and he told Dutch newspaper De Telegraf: "I want to get some good insight before I make my decision.”

The man who coached Chelsea to FA Cup success in 2009 added: "I want as much information as possible. Chelsea are in a bad situation and there are reasons for that.

"Whether or not I'm visiting their next match depends on my first conversation. Then I'll decide if I should stay in London longer."
