New Borussia Dortmund manager: German giants appoint former Nice boss Lucien Favre

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the appointment of former Nice boss Lucien Favre as their new manager.

The 60-year-old Swiss has signed a two-year contract with the German club.

Favre left Nice at the end of the season after guiding the side to eighth in Ligue 1.

He succeeds Peter Stoger at Signal Iduna Park, after the former Cologne manager's five-month spell in charge also came to an end after the campaign.

Dortmund ended the Bundesliga campaign in fourth - 29 points adrift of champions Bayern Munich.
