West Ham United offered hope in Javier Pastore transfer chase
Hammers face competition from Roma for the Paris Saint-Germain ace but the Italians are yet to place a bid

West Ham United have been handed a big boost in their attempts to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Javier Pastore.
The Hammers were reportedly interested in a £20million swoop for the attacking midfielder.
An Argentina international, he missed out on a spot in their World Cup 2018 squad after struggling for games in Ligue 1 last season.
And with the player being one of PSG's biggest earners, it's almost certain he will be sold as the French club look to balance the books.
Even so, the Hammers face competition from Roma for the 28-year-old’s signature.

But the new boss Manuel Pellegrini has been handed a boost with the news the Italian side are yet to bid for Pastore.
“We’ve only just started talking,” his agent Marcelo Simonian told Pagine Romaniste.
“An offer to PSG? No, there’s still nothing. I haven’t talked to him [Pastore] because we don’t have any offers yet, but everyone likes Roma.
“A renewal? It’s a possibility.”
