Arsenal ‘agree fee’ with Bayer Leverkusen for goalkeeper Bernd Leno

Arsenal have agreed a fee with Bayer Leverkusen for the transfer Bernd Leno and will pay a reported £19.2million.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper has been pursued by the club since Unai Emery took over from Arsene Wenger in the dugout.

And according to BBC Sport correspondent David Ornstein, aka, the Arsenal 'meme lord', the only thing left to sort is the medical.

If Leno does join, he will become the club's second summer signing following the arrival of Switzerland full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner on a free transfer from Juventus.

With Leno in goal, Leverkusen finished fifth in the Bundesliga and he made the save of the season during a game against Schalke, according to fans.

Petr Cech and David Ospina are the Gunners' current goalkeepers, but it's unclear who would make way for the German.

Arsenal are also optimistic about concluding a deal for 22-year-old Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira, who is playing for Uruguay at the World Cup as well as Greece and Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
