Highlights of Russia fans celebrating their dramatic World Cup victory over Spain

The host nation defeated the 2010 champions 4-3 on penalties in a gripping last 16 clash at the Luzhniki Stadium

I hope you've got your breath back after that nail-biting penalty shootout which saw host nation Russia book their place in the World Cup quarter-finals at Spain's expense.

Igor Akinfeev pulled off two great saves to deny Koke and Iago Aspas in the shootout to shatter the 2010 World Cup winners' hopes of glory in 2018.

Earlier, the hosts got off to the worst start when Sergei Ignashevich diverted a free-kick into his own net but Sergio Ramos was happy to claim the goal...

However, Artem Dzyuba's spot-kick just before half-time levelled the game after Gerard Pique was penalised for an ill-judged handball which he received a lot of stick on Twitter for.

It was a tense game in what has been a terrific tournament so far as Russia came out on top.

Below you can see some of the best pictures and videos of fans before, during and after the Spain v Russia last 16 clash.
