Leeds United transfer news: Whites close to signing Jerry Mbakogu for £1.6m
Marcelo Bielsa's side have nearly wrapped up the deal

Leeds United are closing in on the signing of Jerry Mbakogu, according to reports.
Mbakogu, the Carpi forward, has been linked with a switch to Elland Road since the January transfer window, and Leeds renewed their interest in the 25-year-old when the summer window opened.
The Whites, who recently appointed Marcelo Bielsa as their new manager, have been negotiating with Carpi over the last couple of weeks, with hopes of lowering the Italian side's asking price for Mbakogu, due to the knee injury he suffered earlier this year which ruled him out for a large portion of the second half of the season.

And, according to reports, Leeds have been successful with their approach, as say a deal is set to be reached to sign Mbakogu for around £1.6million (€1.8m).
This is around £1m cheaper than Leeds were originally expected to pay for Mbakogu, with reports stating the 25-year-old forward would cost £2.6m (€3m).
Bielsa has already completed one signing since his appointed as Leeds manager, bringing midfielder Lewis Baker in from Chelsea on loan, while Matej Vydra is reportedly set to join the Elland Road club in the coming weeks.
