Liverpool's stance on Nabil Fekir has not changed since they put a stop to the deal in early June

The France international looked set to join the Reds earlier in the summer before the club pulled out of a £53million deal at the 11th hour.

Fekir was keen to join Liverpool and the Premier League side were keen on the player, with a deal agreed and even his welcome video filmed before he headed out to Russia for the World Cup.

It was claimed the forward, who scored 22 goals last season, had also picked his Liverpool shirt number before the Reds ended the move over complications that arose during his medical.

Fekir suffered a serious knee injury in 2015, which saw him spend eight months on the sidelines.

However, there were suggestions over the weekend that Liverpool had performed a stunning U-Turn over their decision and were ready to conclude a deal for the goal machine forward.

Fekir has made four appearances for France at the World Cup in RussiaBut, , those rumours are false and Liverpool are not planning to re-enter talks with the Lyon man.

The report claims Liverpool’s position has not changed since they decided to call-off the £53m deal in June.

The club apparently deem it too risky to spend that much on a player with a history of such a serious injury, regardless of how highly he is rated.

Fekir has made four substitute appearances for France at the World Cup, playing the final seven minutes of their thrilling last-16 victory over Argentina.
