England vs Russia head-to-head: How the two sides results compare over the years
The World Cup hosts continue to impress and will be keen to set up a semi-final showdown with Gareth Southgate's men

Russia have surprised even themselves at their own World Cup.
Nobody gave the hosts even a chance of getting out the group stages - but they are now on the cusp of a semi-final meeting with England.
England vs Russia head-to-head record
Since the Soviet Union fell in 1991, England and Russia have met just three times.
England won comfortably in a Euro 2008 qualifying game at Wembley thanks to goals from Michael Owen and Rio Ferdinand.
But they were humbled in the return leg 2-1, which ultimately cost them a place at the tournament in Austria/Switzerland.
The last meeting needs no introduction, as the sides came together in Marseilles two years ago.
Marred by trouble off the pitch, Eric Dier looked to have won it for Roy Hodgson's side before a late Vasili Berezutski leveller.
Overall, taking into account when Russia were the USSR, the records show six England wins, four draws and four Russia victories.
