Newcastle boss Alan Pardew tells Joe Kinnear: Get me some new players

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is pleading with Joe Kinnear to hurry up and make some summer signings.

The Toon are yet to bring in any new players during the window, and manager Pardew is calling for the new director of football to change that.

Pardew wants Aston Villa striker Darren Bent, as well as Lyon front man Bafetimbi Gomis.

He said: “I’m pushing Joe to get a transfer in. We need a boost now.

“We’re in a situation at the moment where we want to progress. Gomis is a player who would suit us and we should pursue it as strongly as we can.”
