Manchester United transfer news: Red Devils interested in AC Milan star Leonardo Bonucci, but face competition from Paris Saint-Germain

The 31-year-old wants to play Champions League football, and would reportedly like to follow Gianluigi Buffon to Paris

Manchester United are still in the race for AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci, but but will have to contend with Paris Saint-Germain.

The Italy international is considering his options this summer despite being at the San Siro for only one season.

The centre-back is reportedly hungry to play Champions League football again and clubs are interested.

Manchester United checked in on Bonucci in June, but it was reported he would prefer a move to PSG.

The 31-year-old’s former Juventus team-mate, Gianluigi Buffon, has joined the French champions and Bonucci is keen to follow him.

But, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United are still in with a chance of signing the centre-back.

The Premier League giants have the £30 million needed to buy Bonucci, while they can also easily meet his £130,000-a-week wage demands.
