Tottenham Supporters’ Trust demand ‘full refunds and a little bit more’ from club after new stadium’s opening is postponed
Spurs could play their home games at Wembley for the rest of the year, despite fans forking out for more expensive season tickets at their new ground

The Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust are fighting for disappointed fans to be compensated by the club after the opening of their new £1billion stadium was delayed.
Speaking to talkSPORT on Tuesday, co-chair Kat Law said the THST are demanding season ticket holders and fans who have already purchased matchday tickets for their new ground are given ‘full refunds and a little bit more’ by the club, as they face a return to Wembley Stadium.
Spurs announced on Monday that their inaugural game at their new north London home against Liverpool, scheduled for September 15, will now be played at Wembley.
Their Premier League clash against Cardiff on October 6 has also been moved to the national stadium, where they played all their home fixtures last term, as has the NFL game scheduled for 14 October.
Tottenham supporters were hit with a dramatic hike in season ticket prices ahead of the new season as they prepared to settle in at the ‘Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’, built on the ground of White Hart Lane.
But they will now have to go back to Wembley, where the games were cheaper last year.
It has even been claimed they could be set to play games at Wembley for the rest of the year, amid fears their new ground is a long way off completion.
And Kat Law, the co-chair of the Tottenham Supporters’ Trust, has revealed to talkSPORT the organisation will ask the club for compensation for their loyal fanbase, as they prepare to meet with club officials later on Tuesday.
Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, Law said: “I think most fans appreciate it was a very ambitious build program – just over a year to build a stadium of that complexity and magnitude would have been quite some feat, if you look at how long it took to build Wembley, for example.
“But I think all that fans really wanted was to be kept up to date with transparent, clear communication.
“But there’s nothing anyone can do to speed this up now, there’s no point us throwing our toys out of the pram.
“So for us as a supporters’ trust, we need to focus on how we can make sure our fans and season ticket holders get a fair compensation for this.
“They have been asked to pay an awful lot more for their season tickets in the new ground than they were at Wembley last season.
“It’s just goodwill – our fans have put up with an awful lot over the last few years and I think now is the time just to show that they are valued.
“So we’d certainly be looking for full refunds for the games that are moved to Wembley and maybe a little bit more on top.”
