Zinedine Zidane wants to replace Jose Mourinho as Manchester United manager, according to stunning reports in France.
The World Cup winning hero is currently without a job after leaving Real Madrid at the end of last season, having led the Spanish giants to a third consecutive Champions League title.
But, instead of enjoying a well-earned break after a glittering spell in charge at the Bernabeu, reports from his homeland claim the former midfielder is already making plans for his next managerial post.
And, , Zidane has his eyes on the Manchester United job.
The report by the newspaper claims the Frence legend is keen to move to the Premier League for the first time in his career.
And the role at Old Trafford is the one he is most keen to take on.
The reports come amid continuing uncertainly over Jose Mourinho’s future as United boss.
The ‘Special One’ enjoyed a fruitful first season in charge of the Red Devils, winning the EFL Cup and Europa League title, but he failed to bring home any silverware in his second campaign and he is under big pressure to win another trophy this term.
There are also claims Mourinho is not seeing eye-to-eye with the United board, after the club failed to sign a number of the manager’s key transfer targets over the summer.
However, it appears one man – which title-winning experience – is ready to take over at Old Trafford should Mourinho leave.
It is his third season in charge in Manchester after all…
