Chelsea fans have posted numerous tributes after their captain, leader and legend John Terry announced his retirement on Sunday.
The 37-year-old declared he would be calling it a day via a post on social media in which he thanked the club and its supporters.
“After 23 incredible years as a footballer, I have decided now is the right time to retire from playing,” Terry wrote.
“As a 14-year-old, I made my best and biggest decision: to sign for Chelsea Football Club.
“Words will never be enough to show how much everyone at the club means to me, in particular the fans.”
In his career at Stamford Bridge, John Terry won five Premier League titles, five FA Cups and the Champions League.
He also won three League Cups and a Europa League, recording a total of 717 appearances for the Blues.
