Ian Wright tells Arsenal fans criticising Hector Bellerin to ‘f*** off’

The Gunners legend is sick of supporters claiming the Spanish full-back can't defend

Ian Wright has sprung to the defence of Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin, telling trolls on Twitter to 'f*** off'.

The Spanish full-back, 23, is yet to convince some Gunners fans despite an impressive performance against Leicester in his team's 3-1 victory on Monday night.

Wright was quick to praise Bellerin's display on social media, however his comments were met with criticism from Arsenal supporters claiming the right-back still struggles defensively.

And it appears Wright has run out of patience with Bellerin's critics.

The legendary Arsenal striker responded to his own tweet, writing: "I put this out yesterday and today I'm reading Arsenal fans telling me about his defending! One word, f*** off."

Leicester took the lead on Monday courtesy of a Bellerin own-goal, with the Spanish defender caught out by a smart run from Ben Chillwell.

However, Bellerin responded by creating two of Arsenal's three goals with superb work down the right-hand side.

The victory extended the Gunnners' winning run to ten in all competitions and Bellerin has been central to their fine form, playing every minute of Premier League football this season.

Earlier this year, the vegan fashion fanatic admitted he is often the target of sickening online abuse.

He told the Times: “Some of it can get very abusive.

“Most of the abuse is online, but you hear it in the stadium too.

“People have called me ‘lesbian’ for growing my hair. There are other kinds of homophobic insults.

“I have learnt to grow a thick skin but it can affect you. Every now and again, you get a bit of self-doubt.”
