The last meeting between the two was a goalless draw behind closed doors in Rijeka and prior to that England's World Cup hopes were ended by Mario Mandzukic in extra-time of the World Cup semi-final.

Below, marvelbet369.com looks at the different outcomes following the conclusion of this game.

1. If England BEAT Croatia

A win would give England seven points and put them top of League A Group 4, ahead of Spain, who lead the way with six having played all of their matches. It would be a second win of the inaugural tournament for Gareth Southgate's side following their famous 3-2 victory in Seville.

2. If it ends as a GOALLESS DRAW

They would finish second behind Spain, but maintain their League A status, while Croatia, would be relegated.

3. If the match is a SCORE draw

England will be relegated to League B, as Croatia have a better head-to-head record through their away goals.

4. If Croatia BEAT England

Four months have passed since that semi-final defeat and another one so soon after would mean Croatia win the group and relegate England.

If they do get to the tournament next summer, it gives England the prospect of playing for a trophy.

Speaking about the prospect of the national team doing well, record goal scorer Wayne Rooney said some ex-internationals are jealous of the current progress being made by Gareth Southgate's young side.

"I know some ex-players I've spoken to can't come to terms with England doing well," said Rooney.

"That is wrong. I'm not like that," said the 33-year-old ex-captain. "I'm a fan now. I want England to do well.

"I wouldn't say I regret never winning a trophy with England.

"I have given everything when playing for England and I've tried to make us successful. Sometimes everything just isn't enough.

"I've had my time and it didn't quite work out in terms of trophies."
