Former Newcastle forward Obafemi Martins becomes latest Chinese Super League signing

Former Newcastle forward Obafemi Martins has completed a move from Seattle Sounders to Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua.
Martins, 31, has been with the Sounders since 2013 and scored 15 goals in 21 games for the MLS side last year.
But now the Nigerian has become the latest player to take the plunge and move to the lucrative Super League in China after he signed a contract on Thursday for an undisclosed fee.
"We wish Oba good fortune in China," said Sounders president Garth Langerwey.
"Ultimately this transaction gives us roster and salary cap flexibility heading into our 2016 MLS season."
Martins left St. James' Park in 2009 after three successful years on the Toon, having scored 35 goals in 90 appearances.
