Luka Modric honoured with limited edition Nike football boots after winning the Ballon d’Or
The Real Madrid star won the award after an impressive year which included the Champions League and World Cup final spot

After Luka Modric picked up the 2018 Ballon d'Or award in France on Monday he was presented with a custom pair of Nike football boots.
Named the 'Golden Touch', Nike have released a limited Silver with gold trim edition of the Mercurial Vapor 360 to honour the Croatian's achievements.
It has been common practice for Nike and Adidas in recent years to commemorate their main man with bespoke footwear.
By winning the prestigious honour, Modric, who finished with 753 points, ended a decade of dominance over the trophy held by both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Prior to Modric, the last player outside of the two greats to receive it was legendary Brazil and AC Milan player Kaka in 2007.
It has been a excellent year for the 33-year-old, who won his third successive Champions League title with Real Madrid in May before playing a starring role as he captained Croatia to the World Cup final this summer, where they were beaten 4-2 by France.
The playmaker received the Golden Ball prize as a result and then in October, pipped Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah to claim the FIFA Men's Best Player Award in London. Following that accolade, he was presented with his first pair of customised boots by Nike.
Speaking at the ceremony in Paris, Modric said it was a unique moment."The Ballon d'Or was more than a dream. I simply cannot believe it,"he said.
"For all my career, I have tried to work hard and have persistence. In the tough moments, you have to show your courage and I always said the best things do not come easy. To achieve all this, it has not been easy.
"But sooner or later, you get an opportunity and when it comes, you have to be ready to take it. I am still trying to take it on board that I have won this and become part of a group that belongs to history. It is a unique feeling."
