Chelsea news: Maurizio Sarri wants ‘leaders’ David Luiz and Cesc Fabregas to remain and sign new contracts
The manager is desperate for the duo to stay and said he has already spoken to the club about making it happen

Maurizio Sarri has urged Chelsea to find a right solution and agree new deals for 'leaders' David Luiz and Cesc Fabregas.
The Blues have tied down a number of their players to long-term contracts in recent weeks, with the likes of N’Golo Kante, Marcos Alonso and Pedro extending their stay at Stamford Bridge, while captain Cesar Azpilicueta became the latest to do so.
Fabregas has played just three times in the Premier League after picking up an injury at the start of the season and Luiz came in for criticism following his performance in the 3-1 defeat to Tottenham, leading to uncertainty regarding their future.
However, Sarri is keen for both to stay."I spoke with the club about this one month ago," the Chelsea boss said at his press conference.

"I know very well it is not easy, but I think we can do a new deal for both.
"They are very important players for us. It is very difficult to find a centre-back for this level and it is difficult to find a centre-midfielder technical like Fabregas, so I think they have to stay with us.
"The deal is very difficult for this reason (their ages), the club want a short contract and the players want a long contract, it is difficult for this reason but we can find a solution.
"I think David and Cesc are leaders. I think it is important for me and the staff if they stay with us. I know the difficulties of the new deal.
"The problem is only, one or two years for a new contract, but I think the club can find a right solution."
Sarri takes his Chelsea side to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday and then welcomes league leaders Manchester City to the Bridge on Saturday evening.
