Tottenham news: Simon Jordan says ‘Danny Rose has far too much to say’ after defender’s Wembley complaints

The Spurs left-back said he is itching to play in the club's new stadium, insisting it was no longer an honour to walk out on the Wembley turf, but the former Crystal Palace chairman says he should just concentrate on his job on the pitch

Simon Jordan has said Danny Rose ‘talks too much’ after the Tottenham defender admitted he can’t wait to leave Wembley and move into the club’s new stadium.

The outspoken England man said this week that playing at Wembley ‘no longer feels like an honour’ and players are ‘itching’ to play at the soon-to-be-opened home ground.

Spurs were initially meant to spend one season at the Home of Football as the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was constructed, but that has stretched to 16 months due to a number of delays.

It have proven a nightmare move for fans, with Wednesday evening’s 3-1 win over Southampton being watched by a crowd of just 33,012 – the club’s lowest league attendance since moving to the national stadium at the start of last season.

And Rose has also admitted he is fed up of Wembley, saying the atmosphere is ‘flat’ and that it’s ‘not nice’ to play there anymore.

It’s not the first time the defender has spoken up – Rose faced heavy criticism and was fined two weeks’ wages by Spurs after an explosive interview with The Sun, in which he hit out at the club’s wage structure and told them to sign more world class players.

And, speaking on Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast about his latest comments, Jordan said: “I’ve got to be honest, I’m not really interested in what Danny Rose says.

“He seems to have far too much to say for himself, and most of it isn’t particularly productive.

“I’m not a huge admirer. He just talks too much about what he hasn’t got and what he doesn’t think is right, when really he needs to focus on being a top footballer, which he clearly is.

“He needs to focus on the game rather than the noise.”
