Christian Benteke didn't get a look in as Liverpool lost on penalties to Manchester City in the League Cup final.

The Belgium international struggled with injuries under Brendan Rodgers, but his return to fitness combined with the arrival of Jurgen Klopp was expected to kick start his career on Merseyside.

He has, however, failed to make an impact on his new manager, to such an extent that, despite the club investing a sizeable £32.5m in securing his signature, he was overlooked in the Reds' defeat to City at Wembley Stadium.
