'Jurgen Klopp doesn't fancy Christian Benteke one bit', Harry Redknapp tells talkSPORT after Liverpool striker's Wembley snub

Harry Redknapp says Christian Benteke's Wembley snub proved Jurgen Klopp has no faith in the striker's abilities.

The Belgian hitman, a £32.5million signing last summer, was left on the bench by Klopp during Liverpool's League Cup final defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.

"He doesn't fancy Benteke," said Redknapp, speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.

"He didn’t even bring him on on Sunday. When they need to try to get back in the game, he leaves him on the bench. He can’t fancy him one little bit."

Benteke is now being tipped to leave Anfield at the end of the season, with Klopp planning a major overhaul of his squad.

The Liverpool boss is reportedly targeting a host of top-class additions, but Redknapp has warned he has an almighty challenge on his hands trying to find the right quality.

"At the moment they are a sixth, seventh in the league team," said the former Tottenham and West Ham boss.

"It is a big rebuilding job. Where do you find the players? It is not easy.

"Everybody is going to look to improve in the summer. Chelsea are not going to stand still, Man City are going to push on, Everton have got new owners, Tottenham don't need a lot but they have a good young squad and Arsenal need to bring one or two in if they are going to be up there again.

"Finding the players is the hardest thing. It is easy to say, 'well, we need three or four players'. Where are the top players? They are very difficult to find."
