Toby Alderweireld ‘very happy’ to stay at Tottenham amid exit rumours
The defender only has a £25million release clause after the club triggered a one-year option in his contract

Toby Alderweireld says he is “very happy” to stay at Tottenham despite continual speculation over his future.
Spurs recently triggered a one-year option on the centre-half’s deal to keep him contracted until 2020, but in doing so, they have also activated a £25million release clause in the summer transfer window.
Alderweireld, 29, was heavily linked with a £50million move to Manchester United last summer - and was believed to be former Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho’s number one target.
But Tottenham refused to sell their star defender, who has helped them challenge for the Premier League title this season.
He said: "I'm very happy to stay another year.
