Spencer: Rooney will go once Man United sign players

Manchester Evening News sports editor Peter Spencer says Wayne Rooney will leave Man United once David Moyes lines up his own stellar signings.
The new Reds boss has said the England striker is not for sale but it is apparent the 28-year-old wants to leave Old Trafford with Chelsea his likely destination.
The journalist said the process will be sped up once United make their own signings but was unsure whether this would mean Cesc Fabregas arriving.
Spencer told Transfer Tavern: "Man United fans are getting more and more angry about the situation themselves. They don't understand it in the main and why he should be so bitterly upset and want to leave.
"It's not the first time he's done this like hold the club to ransom. It will be resolved as soon as United start bringing in stellar signings and high grade players then it won't look as bad for David Moyes who said Rooney wasn't for sale."
Spencer added that he has been impressed with Manuel Pellegrini since he took over at Manchester City. The Chilean boss has already spent more than £80 million on Stevan Jovetic, Alvaro Negredo, Fernandinho and Jesus Navas this summer.
