Marsh: Man City need Negredo to hit the ground running

Former Manchester City striker Rodney Marsh claims the loss of Mario Balotelli and Carlos Tevez means new signing Alvaro Negredo will need to start the season well.

Manuel Pellegrini's side have signed the ex-Sevilla star in a £20million deal and Marsh expects bright things.

"Negrado will do all of his work 30 yards in from goal," he said. "He’s not going to be like Tevez and come back, collect the ball on the half-way line and run at people. Everybody tells me that he can score goals and that’s what City need now that they have lost Balotelli and Tevez."
