Leeds United have had to wait a long time since they last beat West Bromwich Albion.
It was 2002 when they last enjoyed success over the Midlands club.
They have lost the last four meetings between the sides' and conceded an astonishing 14 goals in those games.
The two sides paths have surprisingly rarely crossed over the last 30 years considering the yo-yo nature of each team.
West Brom have the upper hand over the most recently clashes and they thrashed Marcelo Bielsa’s side 4-1 in November.
The two will meet at Elland Road on Friday, live on talkSPORT 2, with Leeds third and the Baggies in fourth in the Championship.
The Yorkshire club last tasted victory over West Brom in August 2002, the clubs have met five times since then and the best they managed was a 0-0 draw.
Expectation was high at Leeds after five successive top five finishes in the Premier League.
All was clearly not right at the club and they began selling off their best players, including Rio Ferdinand to Manchester United for £30million and then Robbie Keane at the end of August 2002.
That season started well for new manager Terry Venables as they began off with a 3-0 home win against Manchester City.
They followed that up with a 3-1 victory over West Brom at The Hawthorns.
Harry Kewell, Lee Bowyer and Mark Viduka all scored for Leeds with Lee Marshall getting a last minute consolation for the Baggies.

Paul Robinson
The goalkeeper played nearly 500 games during his career and only retired in 2017 after spells at Tottenham, Blackburn and Burnley.
Dominic Matteo
Enjoyed a successful 17-year playing career and retired in 2009 after a number of injuries in his latter years.
Revealed in his autobiography he struggled with gambling addiction and was declared bankrupt in 2015. He is now a TV pundit and analyst.
Jonathan Woodgate
The defender played 142 times for Leeds before moving to Newcastle for two seasons and had a surprise transfer to Real Madrid.
His debut in Madrid did not go to plan as he scored an own goal and was sent off.
He later had spells at Middlesbrough, Spurs and Stoke before retiring in 2016.
Woodgate is currently a first team coach at Middlesbrough under Tony Pulis.
Danny Mills
Mills was loaned to Middlesbrough the following season and then sold to Manchester City.
He retired in 2008 after injury problems and is regularly seen as a pundit on TV.
Ian Harte
The defender made 288 appearances for Leeds over nine seasons until their relegation from the Premier League.
He had a short spells in Spain and then at teams in the Championship and League One.
Following retirement he became a football agent.
Lee Bowyer
The midfielder spent seven seasons at Leeds before a move to West Ham followed by Newcastle, the Hammers again, Birmingham and Ipswich.
He is now the manager of Charlton Athletic, where he started his career.
Eirik Bakke
The former Norway international spent eight seasons at Elland Road before returning to his home country.
He retired in 2012 and got his first management job in 2015. He guided Sogndal to the top tier of Norwegian football.
Nick Barmby
Barmby played just 31 games over two seasons for Leeds before a loan spell at Nottingham Forest in the 2003/04 season.
He spent a number of seasons at Hull City and went on to manage the club before being sacked in 2012.
The former England international is reportedly coach of his local team Barton Town Old Boys Under 19’s.
Harry Kewell
The Australian was sold at the end of the 2002/03 season to Liverpool where he won the Champions League in 2005.
He moved into management after retiring, first at Crawley Town and then Notts County but was sacked in November 2018.
Alan Smith
Smith started his career at Leeds but moved to Manchester United after they were relegated.
He won the Premier League in 2006/07 but he was hampered by serious injury problems.
He started as a striker but was moved into midfield during his later career. From United he went to Newcastle and worked his way down the Football League to MK Dons and then Notts County in League Two and retired in 2018.
Mark Viduka
The Australian striker scored 59 Premier League goals in four seasons at Elland Road before moving to Middlesbrough and then Newcastle before retiring in 2009.
Viduka is now a coach at Melbourne Knights.
