Serie A teams paid tribute to Davide Astori one year on from his sudden death.
The Fiorentina captain and Italy international was found dead in his room on the morning of his club’s match against Udinese last March.
The 31-year-old was remembered at all matches in Serie A this weekend with play stopped in the 13th minute as he wore the shirt number 13 throughout his career.
A video was posted of the moment play was stopped in Fiorentina’s match at Atalanta on Saturday, which they lost 3-1.
Clubs also paid tribute to the midfielder on social media over the weekend.
Astori came through the youth ranks at AC Milan and then joined Cagliari in 2008.
He spent eight years at the club before loans at Roma and Fiorentina, moving permanently to the latter two years ago.
His number 13 shirt has been retired at Fiorentina and they will also rename their training ground after him.
