Xherdan Shaqiri: Liverpool midfielder withdraws from Switzerland squad due to ‘inflammation in the pubic area’
The 27-year-old's ailment was embarrassingly confirmed on Switzerland's Twitter account

Liverpool star Xherdan Shaqiri has withdrawn from Switzerland's squad for their matches against Georgia and Denmark due to a rather embarrassing injury.
The Swiss national team's Twitter account confirmed Shaqiri's exit on Monday evening, and revealed just why the 27-year-old cannot play for his country this month.
Without giving an explanation as to how Shaqiri suffered his injury (which we are thankful for, really), it was confirmed the midfielder has 'inflammation in the pubic area'.
The Liverpool ace misses Switzerland's opening two Euro 2020 qualifiers, away in Georgia on Saturday before Denmark visit Basel next Tuesday.
The three countries are joined in Group D by Gibraltar and the Republic of Ireland in the race to qualify for Euro 2020.

The top two finishers book their place in next summer's finals tournament, though Switzerland are already assured of at least a play-off place due to their performances in the Nations League.
Shaqiri joined Liverpool from Stoke last summer and has scored six times for the title-chasing Reds.
