And with Liverpool and Tottenham set to square off in Madrid on June 1, the two clubs could provide football fans with even more memories.

Below, we take a look at No.1 on our list of iconic Champions League moments as Jerzy Dudek’s outstanding double save against AC Milan helped Liverpool win the competition for a fifth time in 2005.

No.1 - Jerzy Dudek’s double save

Liverpool were looking to win a first Champions League trophy since 1984 as they travelled to Istanbul to face a star-studded AC Milan side.

Rafa Benitez’s men got off to the worst possible start when Paolo Maldini diverted Andrea Pirlo’s free-kick past Dudek in the first minute.

And Milan capped off a dominant first-half with two goals inside six minutes from Hernan Crespo.

Three-nil down at half-time - no one gave Liverpool a chance.

Steven Gerrard gave the Reds hope after heading in a John Arne Riise cross on 54 minutes before  Milan goalkeeper Dida fumbled in Vladimir Smicer’s 25-yard strike two minutes later.

The Reds’ comeback was complete just before the hour mark when Gennaro Gattuso fouled Gerrard in the box, which saw referee Manuel Mejuto Gonzalez point to the spot.

Xabi Alonso stepped up and had his penalty saved by Dida, but smashed in the rebound.

Liverpool had clawed back a three-goal deficit in just 14 second-half minutes to stun AC Milan.

The game went to extra time when Dudek became an Anfield legend.

The Polish goalkeeper excellently kept out Andriy Shevchenko’s fierce header before somehow denying the striker’s rebound just two yards from goal.

His double save took the tie to penalties where Dudek saved spot-kicks from Pirlo and Shevchenko as Liverpool won the shootout 3-2 on one of the most dramatic nights in Champions League history.
