Eriksen has been linked with a move to Real Madrid and the attacking midfielder said it would be a ‘step up’ to join the LaLiga giants.

report that Spurs chairman Levy is ‘annoyed’ with Eriksen as the midfielder waited until he was on international duty to make his comments, meaning he was out the club's jurisdiction.

The report also claims Tottenham are open to selling Eriksen, but only if they get the £80million asking price they've slapped on his head.

Eriksen has just one year left on his Tottenham contract but Levy will not let him leave unless Real Madrid meet that valuation, with no cut-price deal possible.

Madrid are understood to not want to pay £80million for Eriksen.

Spurs do run the risk of the midfielder leaving on a free transfer next summer when his contract expires if they do not sell him during this window, or get him to sign a new deal.

The north London club signed Eriksen for just £11million from Ajax in 2013 and he has gone on to be one of the top players in the Premier League.
