Former Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City players among free agents still up for grabs for Premier League clubs
The transfer deadline for Premier League clubs may have passed but there is no restriction on signing free agents.
There are still a number of players out of contract and looking for a new club - and Premier League managers could be tempted into offering them a deal, particularly if they suffer any early season injuries.

Daniel Sturridge
Injuries and poor form has restricted Sturridge to just seven goals in the last three seasons.
Liverpool decided to release the striker after he netted 67 goals in 160 games, including 21 Premier League goals in the 2013/14 season.
Reports on Tuesday claimed the 29-year-old is set to make a decision about his future this week, as he considers bids from 13 clubs – but none of them are from the Premier League.
Asked if he would be interested in signing the striker if he was in charge of a club, former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan told talkSPORT: “No. Not in any parallel universe would I sign Daniel Sturridge. Not for me.
“I wouldn’t even give him a pay as you play deal.
“I wouldn’t want Sturridge in my dressing room or at my training ground around younger players.”
The striker could still be an option for Premier League clubs, however. He is a proven goalscorer who still has several years left in his career.
Mario Balotelli
The notorious striker finished the second half of last season at Marseille where he scored eight goals in 12 games.
The 29-year-old has already played for seven different clubs in his career and looks set for an eighth.
West Ham had been linked with a move for Balotelli but never showed serious interest he has been made a lucrative offer to join Brazilian club Flamengo.
They have reportedly offered him a two-and-a-half year deal £108,000-a-week.
Hatem Ben Arfa
The former Newcastle midfielder finds himself as a free agent following the end of his contract at Ligue 1 Rennes.
The 32-year-old has plenty of offers from clubs in France and also Italy.
Ben Arfa had four seasons in the north east with Newcastle so can offer plenty of Premier League experience should he be willing to return to England.
Wilfried Bony
The 32-year-old striker is currently without a club after being released by Swansea at the end of last season.
Manchester City paid £25million for Bony in 2015 but he failed to live up to that price tag.
He did score 16 Premier League goals in the 2013/14 season but now finds himself a free agent and training at League Two side Newport.
Franck Ribery
Signing the 36-year-old winger would be a bit of a wildcard choice for any Premier League team but would surely excite the fans.
Ribery left Bayern Munich after an incredible 12 seasons with the Bundesliga club that produced 24 trophies.
Despite being 36, he managed 38 appearances for Bayern last season and is by no means ready to retire just yet.
Lazar Markovic
Five years ago Liverpool paid £20million for Markovic but he was never able to cement himself in the side.
Several loan spells later, he was released in January of this year and signed a six-month contract with Fulham.
Remarkably, he is still only 25 but is still unproven at Premier League level.
Fernando Llorente
Llorente played a vital role in Tottenham’s progress to the Champions League final last season.
He scored crucial goals in the last-16 match with Borussia Dortmund and the winner against Manchester City in the quarter-final.
The 34-year-old was released at the end of last season with reports suggesting that Manchester United were eyeing a shock move for the striker.
Claudio Marchisio
Marchiso left Juventus in 2018, after being at the club from the age of seven, with 389 appearances in seven Serie A titles to his name.
He then joined Zenit St Petersburg for a season before being released in July.
