Manchester City ‘want to open talks’ on deal to bring Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu to the Etihad

Leicester City have already lost one defender to a Manchester club and they could be at risk of losing another.
Harry Maguire joined Manchester United in the summer for £80million, a world record fee for a defender.
The Foxes chose not to reinvest that money in another centre back as they were confident that they had enough strength to cope.
Caglar Soyuncu has been one of their standout players this season and they have so far not missed Maguire in their defence.
His performances have caught the eye of the blue half of Manchester who are in need of defensive cover.

claim City officials are looking to open talks with Soyuncu’s representatives about a possible deal.
If any deal is likely to be completed then it will be next summer rather than in the January transfer window.
City have only one senior central defender fit with Fernandinho used alongside Nicolas Otamendi for the last two games.
Aymeric Laporte and John Stones are both currently out injured while Vincent Kompany was never replaced in the summer.
City were rumoured to be interested in Soyuncu before Leicester signed him from Freiburg in 2018.
The 23-year-old played just eight times last season for the club but has already made five appearances this campaign.
