They're all well loved too. Not only by us but by you the listeners.
As time passes and these legends' exploits in the beautiful game begin to fade, their records broken and their achievements eclipsed, here at talkSPORT callers are always on hand to remind the men and women themselves just how important they are to people across the land.
One of our most memorable callers did just when Newcastle United were going through trying times on the pitch.
William from Tyneside picked up the phone knowing Gallowgate legend Micky Quinn was on the other end of the line, along with the excellent Ian Danter.
About to give the duo his thoughts on the current goings-on at St James' Park, his attention turned to Quinn, who scored 57 league goals in 110 games for the club between 1989 and 1992.
Emotion crackling through his voice, William stopped and paid tribute to his hero.
"I didn't realise how good he was," said the caller. "He scored so many goals."
