Unai Emery insists Arsenal can finish in top four despite Leicester defeat, answers questions about his future as manager
Unai Emery is adamant he's the right man to lead Arsenal's pursuit of Champions League football despite their defeat at Leicester on Saturday.
The Gunners were beaten 2-0 at the King Power Stadium thanks to goals from Jamie Vardy and James Maddison.
It leaves the north Londonders eight points off the top four with just twelve games played.
They have not tasted victory on the road in the Premier League since their win at Newcastle on the opening weekend.
Arsenal have also failed to win in their last five matches in all competitions and Emery's status as manager is under increasing threat.
However, he remained relatively upbeat after the game, insisting he believed he can take Arsenal forward.
He told talkSPORT: "I know when we’re losing the supporters aren’t happy but I know we’re going to work to recover that situation.
";When we win they [the fans] are going to be happy and this is my challenge now."
And when asked whether Arsenal still had a chance of making it into the top four, Emery said: "Yes of course.
“That is very equal, that’s competition. There are another two teams with the same target – Manchester United and Tottenham.
“But I think we can and we have time to be consistent for the next matches and we have 38 matches and can make up the difference."

Emery praised the attitude of his players and suggested that the match was actually tighter than the scoreline suggests.
When asked if the players are reacting to what he's saying, Emery said: "Yes, very good attitude.
“They are all disappointed. They worked and they tried and the attitude was very good.”
"We were playing a good team and also I think we worked with our game plan really well and created chances.
“If we scored in the first half then maybe the match would be better for us. We also started pushing in the second half, creating chances and getting in the box.
“We conceded some chances from them but the match was very close for both. And when they scored the first goal, maybe that was the difference…
"We lost, that is clear but they [Leicester] are at home and are feeling strong. The difference was that they scored when they had the opportunity and we didn’t."
