Jamie Vardy left out of Leicester squad to face Newcastle United due to calf injury, confirms Brendan Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers confirmed that Jamie Vardy missed Leicester's win over Newcastle due to a tight calf.
The striker has been in red-hot form for the Foxes this season and is the Premier League's leading marksman halfway at the midway point of the season, having scored 17 goals in 18 games.
But he didn't add to that tally on New Year's Day as he was omitted from Leicester's squad who travelled to Newcastle on New Year's Day, a game they went on to win 3-0.
Vardy, 32, missed the 2-1 win at West Ham at the weekend to attend the birth of his daughter.
He was fully expected to return to the starting XI for the New Year's Day clash with the Magpies.
But Brendan Rodgers did not call on his star man for his side's opening game of 2020, with Kelechi Ịheanachọ and Ayoze Perez leading the attack.
Rodgers told talkSPORT: "At training on Monday he felt some tightness in his right calf. It hasn't ruptured or he hasn't strained it. He just felt some tightness. He's done some work back at the training ground and we will see how he is for the weekend. If not, then he should be fine for our semi-final."
