The Golden Shoe (not boot!) is awarded to the player with the most goals in European domestic football.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, predictably, are up there, but how do they rank against prolific talent from the Premier League, Serie A and Ligue 1?

*The rankings are worked out by multiplying the number of league goals scored by a factor based on the competitive level of the competition.

That means that goals scored in the top ranking UEFA leagues - Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese and English top flights - are multiplied by two, while domestic championships in the level below see goals multiplied by 1.5 and Europe's weakest divisions are multiplied by one
