West Ham complete last-gasp deadline day signing of Jarrod Bowen from Hull City for £22m

West Ham have signed Jarrod Bowen from Hull City in a deal that went right to the wire on transfer deadline day.

The forward was believed to be having his medical at the London club on Friday lunchtime, but had to thrash out personal terms before the move was completed.

Crystal Palace had looked like they were in pole position to sign the 23-year-old but it was the Hammers who landed their man.

Newcastle were also believed to have made a late move to prise the player away from the KCOM Stadium.

Bowen has scored 16 goals in the Championship this season and is one of the most highly-rated players outside the top flight.

The signing will be a good boost for David Moyes as he looks to keep his side in the Premier League.

They are perilously close to the drop zone with just goal difference keeping them ahead of Bournemouth and Watford in 18th and 19th place respectively.

West Ham face Brighton on Saturday at the London Stadium in an important relegation clash.
