In one of the strangest talkSPORT moments in recent memory, Leeds forward Patrick Bamford was sent a motivational message to end his goal drought - by music superstar Jon Bon Jovi!

The award-winning Bon Jovi frontman joined Laura Woods and Tony Cascarino in the studio on Monday morning, talking about drinking whisky with the Bayern Munich team, his love of NFL, and the band's new record.

But he was also quizzed on Bamford, the currently misfiring Leeds striker who is known to be a big Bon Jovi fan.

In fact, he even went to watch the New Jersey rockers live when they played at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium in 2013!

Jon Bon Jovi is actually aware of Bamford's love of his band, and told talkSPORT: "He gets motivated listening to Bon Jovi before a game - what could be better than that?"

Well, the motivation of listening to hits such as AlwaysIt's My Life, and the timeless Livin' on a Prayer does not appear to be working right now.

In fact, Bamford is in the midst of a striking crisis as his goal drought extends to five matches ahead of tonight's Championship clash vs Middlesbrough.

So, if the music of Bon Jovi is not working, how else can Bamford be motivated to finally hit the back of the net again?

Well, talkSPORT thought a direct message from Mr Bon Jovi himself might do the trick.

And People magazine's 'Sexiest Rock Star' of 2000 duly obliged, sending Bamford a motivational message live on air.

Sexy in 2000 and still sexy now - and that's just Casc!

He began: “Patrick - I’m holding your next game cheque! You score, you get it… you don’t score, you don’t get it.

“How’s that for motivation!"

He even said Bon Jovi have got Bamford a new theme song, and it was released as the single Limitless last week.

In his own words, the 57-year-old called it 'a big upbeat arena-style Bon Jovi anthem'.

Now, everyone loves one of those!

You can watch Bon Jovi's message to Bamford at the top of the page, and listen to the band's new track, below...

Just to make sure Bamford received Mr Bon Jovi's motivational message, talkSPORT put the video out on social media - and the striker quickly responded after seeing it.

And, please Patrick, for the rock superstar's sake - Keep the Faith and get your scoring boots back on!
