Hughton defends decision to replace Redmond

Norwich City manager Chris Hughton has defended his decision to substitute Nathan Redmond during their 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa.
The talented winger impressed again for the Canaries but was hauled off after 63 minutes by his boss.
But the decision was much to the chagrin of the Carrow Road faithful who felt Robert Snodgrass, who missed their sixth minute penalty, was more deserving of the hook.
Hughton, though, insisted he felt his side were more likely to grab an equaliser with the Scottish star still on the pitch.
“I will always understand reactions from supporters,” he told talkSPORT.
“Nathan Redmond has been good here. He got our goal in the win against Southampton but sometimes you have to do what you think is best for the team.
“Nathan, with his quality, on most occasions when he got the ball had three players around him and we weren’t getting much from him.
“I genuinely felt that if we were going to get something from the game it was going to be from the right-hand side.
“And I accept that Robert Snodgrass was very much in and out of the game but he had a lot of the ball and he is someone that can create something.”
