‘Kyle Walker should lose England career and Man City should sell him’ – Ian Holloway furious at ‘irresponsible’ stars for breaching coronavirus lockdown

Ian Holloway believes Kyle Walker’s England career should be over and Manchester City should ‘look to get him out of the club’ after the defender breached the coronavirus lockdown to host a ‘sex party’ at his house.
But the Grimsby Town boss didn’t stop there.
Holloway joined talkSPORT on Tuesday to vent his fury not only at footballers, but at ANYBODY who is flaunting the government’s restrictions - saying not staying indoors is ‘disrespectful to generations of people who fought for our future’.
The former Premier League manager has come down hard on Three Lions international Walker, who issued a public apology for his actions after he is alleged to have invited a friend and two sex workers to his Cheshire flat last week.
The right-back now faces disciplinary action after City launched an internal investigation into his behaviour.
He is the second Premier League player to have been caught ignoring the government’s social distancing guidelines, after Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish went to a party last weekend and was then allegedly involved in a car accident.
Both players had posted videos on their social media accounts urging fans to stay safe and stay at home during the COVID-19 crisis.
And Holloway says it ‘beggars belief’ that footballers continue to breach lockdown restrictions and that Walker should face severe punishment for his actions.
The day after Walker's apology, his Man City manager Pep Guardiola lost his mother to coronavirus, and Holloway told the talkSPORT Breakfast: "First off I'd like to send my love and best wishes to Pep as he's lost his mum.
"The reality of that and then you have one of your players [Walker], it's almost brainless.
"What on earth are you doing having a party like that anyway? You’re not responsible. It's bang out of order.
"I'd be looking to get him out of the club to be honest. That's not right. I don’t care what he’s done in the past, that’s just so irresponsible.
"I think that comes with the territory, you know? You end up believing in all your hype and you think you can control the world and do anything you like.
"Well, I’m sorry, but you can’t! You’ve got to be a responsible human being!"
Asked if Walker's England career should be over as well, Holloway added: "Oh totally. Totally.
"It beggars belief! Where’s the discipline?"
Holloway then digressed and began talking about American fighter pilots in World War II… but the point he was trying to make was pretty clear.
"Can they [the Government] make it any clearer, saying every day, ‘don’t go out, help the NHS and save lives’?
"Really, if you’re flaunting that there’s something wrong with you.
"If you had one day on the frontline doing what all these doctors and nurses are having to do, you wouldn’t go out - it’s just frightening.
"I watched a film the other night, Midway, and these Americans were dive-bombing, coming down and trying to sort out the Japanese that hammered Pearl Harbour…
"Look what these people did for us. We’ve got to just stay indoors to save lives... and we cant do it? It doesn’t makes sense!
"It’s absolutely so disrespectful to generations and generations who fought and lived for us to make sure our world was a better place, and they cant do that? It’s all wrong!”
Well said, Ollie.
