Redknapp is no.1 choice for Ukraine job

Harry Redknapp has become the no.1 candidate to take over as the manager of the Ukrainian national team.

The former West Ham boss has been out-of-work since being sacked by Tottenham at the end of last season.

Football Federation of Ukraine chairman, Michael Fomenko said in a statement:  “In my opinion, Redknapp will have a high reputation in the national team players. He has enough experience coaching talent and ability to motivate players.

“He quickly improves the quality of the game and has reached significant progress. Today this expert is one of the best English coaches.”

Formeko held a meeting with the national side’s senior officials where they had a dossier of his previous appointments and achievements.

Redknapp had been tipped to take over the England job after Fabio Capello’s resignation, but the Football Association gave the role to Roy Hodgson.
