Arsenal set to miss out on PSV sensation Bakkali

Arsenal target Zakaria Bakkali looks set to stay at PSV Eindhoven

Arsenal could face a struggle to land PSV Eindhoven hotshot Zakaria Bakkali as the Dutch club are poised to offer him a new long-term deal.

The forward, 17, is regarded as one of the hottest young prospects in the Eredivisie and is attracting admiring glances from across Europe.

The Gunners were heavily linked with a move for the Belgian youngster in the summer while Manchester City and Chelsea have also been credited with an interest.

He became the youngest player to score a hat-trick in Eredivisie history when he netted a treble in a 5-0 thrashing of NEC Nijmegen earlier this season.

He is currently contracted to PSV until 2015 but the Eindhoven giants want to tie him down for a longer period and could do so in January when he turns 18.

In Holland players under the age of 18 cannot sign contracts for longer than three years and PSV will look to hand him fresh terms within the coming months.
