Thiago Alcantara and winger Sadio Mane loves – Eight players Liverpool could target in the transfer window

It's been a season of great excitement for Liverpool but the current transfer window is likely to be rather mundane for them.
Jurgen Klopp has suggested there will be no major signings coming to Anfield having insisted he's '100 per cent happy' with his squad.
He said earlier this month: "I am happy with my squad, 100 per cent.
"It’s not that we don’t want to, we try to make the right decisions constantly and then COVID-19 came. The situation changed and not for the better.
"It’s not that we think we cannot improve with transfers, we do what is right for us and what we are able to do, that’s all.
"If other teams invest I have no idea, they may know more about the future, I don’t know.
"But the main difference between us and other teams this year was consistency. You saw how tight the game was against Chelsea when we won 2-1 I think [earlier this season], but they are 25 points or so behind us.
"However, these are not the gaps you see on the pitch. They can really play football and they could have won that match, but my boys were resilient like mad.
"We put absolutely everything into the game and that’s what the difference was."
Nevertheless, what the club decides to do over the next ten weeks could prove the difference between getting to the top and and staying there.
marvelbet369.com has identified which positions Liverpool can improve and players they should look to target this summer.
Thiago Alcantara (Bayern Munich)
Since Philippe Coutinho left for Barcelona in January 2018, Liverpool have lacked a certain creative flair in their midfield. Things haven't gone well for the Brazilian in Catalonia and he's even been linked with a move back to Anfield, however, Klopp has made it clear Liverpool won't be resigning him.
One player the manager hasn't ruled out signing is Thiago Alcantara, who's in the final year of his Bayern Munich contract.
Multiple reports state that the Premier League champions are frontrunners to land him and the latest rumours suggest Bayern are willing to let him leave on a cut-price deal as they look to avoid losing him on a free in June 2021.
Max Clark (Vitesse Arnhem)
Liverpool are sorted at left-back but what happens if Andy Robertson gets injured? James Milner is a good temporary solution but an out-and-out left-back is needed in case the Scotsman is out for a lengthy period.
Vitesse Arnhem left-back Clark, who actually started his career at Robertson's former club Hull, could be a shrewd acquisition.
The 24-year-old made a statistics-based England XI earlier in the season but went slightly quiet after that as the Eredivisie 2019/20 campaign was eventually declared null and void.
Jamal Lewis (Norwich)
There are other potential targets at left-back closer to home though. Liverpool could take advantage of Norwich's relegation to bring in Lewis, who's definitely good enough to continue playing in the top flight.
Norwich's defensive record last term was the worst in the top flight, having conceded 75 goals and finishing on a goal difference of -49 but Lewis had great moments, including a brilliant winner against Leicester in February.
The Northern Ireland international is comfortable on the ball and isn't scared of going forward, which is a massive plus in a Klopp system.
Jan Vertonghen (Free agent)
But if money is an issue, then why not go for Vertonghen?
The Belgian has seen out his contract at Tottenham and although he's 33, he'd certainly do a job at Anfield as a stand-in left-back.
It's not just left-back where he could play, Vertonghen is primarily a centre-back and Liverpool could do with another player in that position having let Dejan Lovren join Zenit St Petersburg. Vertonghen is definitely an upgrade on the Croatian too.
Victor Osimhen (Lille)
Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are one of the most potent strike forces in the world, but again, what happens if one or even two get long-term injuries?
Relying on the likes of Divock Origi, who went 23 games without a goal in 2019/20 and Takumi Minamino, who's looked like a lost sheep since signing last December, is not something that will fill Kopites with confidence.
Osimhen, who scored 18 goals and six assists in 2019/20, can play in the centre or on the wings of a front three.
At just 21 years old, he would be a great talent to have for the future.
Ismaila Sarr (Watford)
Osimhen appears close to joining Napoli though but another star who's primarily central but can play on the wings is Watford man Sarr.
Sarr helped inflict a first Premier League defeat of the season on Liverpool, scoring a brace in the 3-0 game.
The 22-year-old is also good friends with Sadio Mane, so could become the Senegal star's apprentice at Anfield.
Having only joined the Hornets last summer, Sarr is contracted at Vicarage Road until 2024 but relegation could make the club sell him for a reduced price.
Ryan Fraser (Free Agent)
But there are attacking options out there who won't cost a penny, with former Bournemouth star Fraser now without a club.
Scotland international Fraser, 26, wasn't at his best in 2019/20 but much of that was due to the huge speculation surrounding his future, which started last summer.
His form in 2018/19, seven goals and 14 assists in the Premier League, show he could offer a lot to Liverpool's already brilliant front line.
Fraser is very mobile and his speed would allow him to execute Klopp's high press system effectively.
Willian (Free Agent)
However, a more experienced option could be Chelsea star Willian, who's time at Stamford Bridge is coming to an end.
He'll also be available on a free this summer but his agent told talkSPORT two concrete offers have been made to sign him.
It's also not out of the question that Chelsea could offer him a new deal.
