Barcelona told to consider Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa as new manager amid claims Quique Setien was sacked after Bayern Munich humiliation

Barcelona should consider making Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa their new manager, says Tony Cascarino, amid claims Quique Setien was sacked on Friday night after their 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich.
Bielsa is still yet to commit his future to the Yorkshire club after ending their 16-year wait for promotion back to the Premier League, with his contract currently set to expire this summer.
And Cascarino says he'd be a perfect fit for the Nou Camp job, following reports Barcelona have sacked their manager immediately after Friday's dreadful loss in Portugal.
The LaLiga giants suffered a humiliating quarter-final exit from the Champions League as they were thrashed in brutal fashion by the German champions.
Gerard Pique called for widespread changes at the Catalan club after their ‘embarrassing’ capitulation, as Barcelona loanee Philippe Coutinho twisted the knife with a late double against his parent side.
A number of top coaches were already linked with replacing 61-year-old Setien ahead of the game, after Barca lost out to rivals Real Madrid in the race for the LaLiga title this season.
Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is one of the early favourites for the role, but Bielsa has been linked with the job in the past, too, with gossip suggesting Lionel Messi is very keen for his fellow Argentine to take charge and help steer the ship into calmer waters.
And Cascarino, who apologised to Leeds fans for saying it, believes Bielsa would be the perfect man for the job.
“It’s an incredible job and they would have a number of great managers lined up,” said the Weekend Sports Breakfast host.
“If you said to me tomorrow, ‘who would I want to take?’ Sorry Leeds fans, but I would be after Bielsa every day of the week.
“I could see it working.
“He’s all about that Barcelona type of football, the way they play, that hunger, the emphasis on young players.
"Barcelona can attract the very best players in the world and, if they could do that, I’d want a manager of his ilk.
“I’ve seen what he’s done at Marseille, I’ve seen what he’s done at Leeds, and I see the way he plays football, the fans out there would adore Bielsa.”
