It's been three days since Barcelona's Champions League hiding against Bayern Munich but we're still in a state of shock it happened.

The five-time winners were pulverised by the German champions, losing 8-2 in Lisbon.

Big changes are clearly needed at the club that were once feared by every side on the continent.

The players have to take some blame for letting the scoreline get so big but the buck ultimately stops with manager Quique Setien.

He was only appointed in January but Setien's position looks untenable and it's understood he'll be relieved of his duties before too long.

Barca may be a shadow of the side they were under Pep Guardiola but there will always be an appeal to take the top job at the Camp Nou.

A number of big names have been linked with the position, including Marcelo Bielsa, who guided Leeds to Premier League promotion, and is one of the most respected names in management.

Club legend Xavi has also been linked as have the likes of Ronald Koeman and Thierry Henry.

Even former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is also in the running, despite his claims in 2018 that he'd never manage Barcelona due to his ties with their local rivals Espanyol.

marvelbet369.com takes a look at the odds on who will become Barcelona's next permanent boss.

Next Barcelona manager contenders

*Odds courtesy of Sky Bet

1. Ronald Koeman (1/2)

2. Mauricio Pochettino (5/1)

3. Javier Garcia Pimienta (7/1)

4. Xavi (8/1)

5. Pep Guardiola (10/1)

6. Marcelo Bielsa (25/1)

7= Arsene Wenger (33/1)

7= Laurent Blanc (33/1)

7= Massimiliano Allegri (33/1)

7= Nuno Espirito Santo (33/1)

7= Patrick Kluivert (33/1)

7= Thierry Henry (33/1)

So Koeman is the heavy favourite to get it and appointing the Dutchman would make sense. He's got plenty of experience and achieved great things with Barca as a player, helping the club to their first European Cup triumph in 1992.

Shortly behind him is Pochettino, who ruled himself out when in charge of Spurs.

But in 2020 he went back on his word, saying: "Perhaps now looking back I wouldn’t have said that because in life you never know what will happen."

You may not have heard of the third favourite but it's an appointment that would fit the Barca Way. Javier Garcia Pimienta is currently in charge of the Barcelona B side, however, the only concern is whether he'd be able to do a turnaround job of this magnitude.

Just behind him is club legend Xavi, who's currently in charge of Qatari side Al Sadd. The Spaniard will surely manage Barcelona at some point but he probably wasn't expecting an opportunity to come so soon.

Appointing Xavi could also convince Lionel Messi, who cuts a figure fed up with what's going on at the club, to stay.

If Xavi can't do that, fifth favourite Guardiola certainly could. The legendary manager hasn't had a great 2019/20 campaign and only has one year left on his Manchester City contract, but he'd be accepted with open arms having achieved incredible success as manager, winning 14 trophies in four years at the club.

 Xavi and Guardiola would certainly be the fans' choice

If Guardiola didn't get it, his first recommendation would probably be Bielsa. The Argentine has a reputation for his meticulous preparation and wouldn't be afraid to make the tough decisions that need to be made for Barcelona to get out of their rut.

Outside contenders include former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and his former player Henry, who played for Barca after the Gunners.

Meanwhile, Massimiliano Allegri and even Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo are 33/1 odds on to get the job.

It's going to be a big summer for the Catalans and they can't afford to get their next managerial appointment wrong.
